Back in February the Plumpjack Group, which operates Plumpjack Winery in Oakville and Cade Estate Winery on Howell Mountain, announced plans to purchase some prime Napa Valley real estate in the Stags Leap District.
The group bought Steltzner Vineyards’ 36-acre vineyard and winery located along the Silverado Trail (across the Trail from Pine Ridge Winery) for an undisclosed sum.
Now, the property is set to reopen as Odette Estate with a grand opening and open house scheduled for August 4th and 5th. The project’s mission statement is “To highlight the feminine style of wines that reflect the unique terroir of our Stags Leap District Estate winery.”
Reports from back in February quoted Plumpjack executives as saying the Stags Leap property would be “Cabernet-focused”. According to documents on the Odette Estate website, the varieties currently planted on the estate are as follows: 20.8 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 9 acres of Merlot, 1.93 acres of Malbec, 2.2 acres of Cabernet Franc, 1.27 acres of Pinotage, .8 acres of Tintoria and 4 unplanted acres.
