Every year at this time the vineyards explode with new growth–it’s a visual reminder of the passing of time and changing of seasons. This year, there are several other new beginnings happening across the valley.
Meritage Resort and Spa Opens $40 Million Expansion
Napa’s Meritage Resort and Spa has just completed a 19-month, $40 million expansion that was designed to provide guests with the “complete Napa Valley experience.” Among the new additions to the resort is the Crush Ultra Lounge with luxury bowling lanes, an event piazza, an Italian-style café named Blend and 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Oakville Grocery to Re-Open on May 22nd
The historic Oakville Grocery, which as been closed since early this year, will re-open on Wednesday, May 22nd following a complete renovation. In addition to a redesigned space the market will feature a completely redesigned menu that will include a highly curated selection of locally sourced gourmet products and a new line of Oakville Grocery private label foods (launching this fall).
Chef Jason Rose, formerly of Ram’s Gate Winery in Sonoma, will lead the kitchen and oversee the market’s culinary program. The new menu will feature seasonal prepared foods, made-to-order sandwiches and salads, breads, cheeses, charcuterie, and baked goods. Everything will be sourced from nearby farms, including Rudd Farm and Orchards on Mt. Veeder and there will be an espresso bar with the option for ordering coffee from a take-out window at the front of the store.
