March is off to a rainy start here in the Napa Valley, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting out there and enjoying the weekend. There’s plenty going on in these parts, here are a few upcoming events worth looking into.
Saturday, March 3rd
- From 6pm – 10pm Charles Krug Winery will host a birthday party for the founder of Napa Valley’s first winery, Charles Krug. For $100 per person, you’ll be able to enjoy appetizers and a seated dinner with Charles Krug wines. You’ll also be able to mingle with guests including Peter Mondavi Jr., Charles Krug winemaker Stacy Clark, and spirit medium Leanne Thomas who will attempt to channel Charles Krug. Sunday, March 4th
- Starting at 7am, the 34th Annual Napa Valley Marathon will take place starting at Rosedale Road in Calistoga and finishing up at Vintage High School in North Napa. There will be some 2,300 runners, their families, and friends on hand for the marathon, which largely goes along Silverado Trail (plan accordingly). Call 707-255-2609 for additional details
Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th
- From 11am – 6pm both days Velo Vino in St. Helena will host a celebration for its newest Cabernet Sauvignon release, the 2008 “Kit’s Killer Cab.” For $15 per person, you’ll be able to enjoy a vertical flight of three cabernets, the ’06, ’07 and ’08, that will be paired with artisan chocolates from TCHO.
