Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

Judging by the weather, Fall is officially here. It’s cool and the fall colors are showing throughout the valley. Today, we’re sharing a few events planned for this weekend that you won’t want to miss.

Saturday, November 5th

  • From 11am – 4pm the Silver Pass kick-off event will take place. For $45 per person in advance ($50 day of), you’ll be able to enjoy barrel samples, food pairing, special discounts, library releases, and more at fourteen participating wineries (Clos du Val, Monticello Vineyards, Pina, Titus Vineyards, etc.). As an added bonus, you’ll also be able to use your pass for free current release tastings through the month of November. Call 707-256-0122 for more information
  • From 1pm – 4pm the Howell Mountain Harvest Celebration will take place at V Wine Cellar in Yountville. For $25 per person in advance ($35 at the door) you’ll be able to experience a variety of mountain wines from Howell Mountain in a casual setting. Call 707-965-2665 for details

Sunday, November 6th

  • From 7:30pm – 10:30pm the 3rd Annual Mutineer Magazine Red Carpet Party will take place at the historic Napa Valley Opera House. Among other festivities, eight local bartenders will be on hand to showcase their skills in “The King’s Ginger Holiday Cocktail Competition.” Participants will include Matt Jerome (Angèle, Napa), Cory Hancock (Bottega, Yountville), Christopher Kennedy (Bouchon, Yountville), Noel Lopreore (Farmstead, St. Helena), Steve Middler (Morimoto, Napa), Melanie Smith (Press, St. Helena), Jason Withrow (Redd, Yountville) and Michael Jack Pazdon (SolBar at the Solage Resort, Calistoga)
