by Karen on June 9, 2011

The June gloom appears to be over (knock on wood). With the sun shining, birds chirping and summer just around the corner, it’s time to get your wine on.

Here are a few events slated for this weekend that you won’t want to miss.

Saturday, June 11th

  • From 9am – 1pm the annual Walk Through the Vineyards will take place at Charles Krug Winery. The event, which benefits the Bay Area Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, includes a walk and silent auction. Cost is $35 per adult and kids 15 and under are $15 each. Call 415-543-3549 for more information
  • From 1pm – 5pm Girard Winery will fire up the grill and host a Summertime BBQ Kickoff event at the tasting room in Yountville. For $15 per person (free for wine club members) you be able to enjoy barbeque classics along with limited case production wines, including the 2007 Jonas Red Blend and 2009 Rose of Old Vine Zin. Call 707-968-9297 for details
  • From 7pm – 9pm Elizabeth Spencer will host its annual oysters, Sauvignon Blanc and paella celebration at the tasting room in Rutherford. Cost is $40 per person ($25 per wine club member) and you can call 707-963-4762 for more information
