This week’s edition of Napa Valley weekend happenings includes everything from geocaching, to cook-outs, BBQs and final release parties. The weather should be solid, so get out there and have some fun!

Saturday, May 21st

  • From 10am – 3pm Benessere Vineyards in St. Helena will host a unique event at the winery on Big Tree Road. For $65 per person ($55 per wine club member), you’ll be able to do a bit of geocaching, where teams of people will travel through the estate, GPS devices in hand (which the winery will supply), to search for the ‘cache.’ There will be refreshment stations and lunch provided. Make sure to call 707-963-5853 x107 to RSVP before it’s too late
  • From 1pm until ‘sundown’ the annual Pope Valley Winery May BBQ will take place at 6613 Pope Valley Road in, you guessed it, Pope Valley. For $30 per adult ($15 per child 12 and under), you’ll be able to barrel taste, take part in a bocce ball tournament, listen to live music and of course enjoy select Pope Valley Winery wines. The menu will be traditional BBQ Tri-Tip, Chicken, all the fixings and sides (with a vegetarian menu option also available). Call 707-965-1246 for more information
  • From 6:30pm – 9:30pm Chase Cellars will host a Spring Release Cook-out. For $90 per person you’ll be able to taste various Chase Cellars wines, including the winery’s very first Sauvignon Blanc, the 2010 from St. Helena. Chef John Fink will be roasting whole Halibut in the vineyard along with a selection of seasonal vegetables and fingerling potatoes for you to enjoy as well. Call 707-963-1284 for all the details

Sunday, May 22nd

  • From 11am – 3pm Acacia Vineyard will play host to an unusual ‘Final Release’ party as the final vintage of the Beckstoffer Pinot will be unveiled. For $45 per person ($35 per wine club member), you’ll be able to taste multiple vintages of the Pinot, including the final 2008 vintage. Call 877-226-1700 for details
