We’ve written several times over the past few years about the continued evolution of downtown Napa–something Wine Spectator has apparently just discovered.
Downtown’s West End, which already includes Oenotri, Norman Rose Tavern, Avia and Avia Kitchen, John Anthony Wine Bar and several other establishments is about to get yet another new addition.
In the space formerly occupied by Piccolino’s in the Napa Town Center complex, Eiko’s Restaurant Napa Valley is getting set to open. On a recent foggy morning we walked past the space and noted the clearly out-dated sign outside (pictured above) indicating the restaurant was scheduled to open on May 2nd.
From the glimpse we were able to get of the interior (photos) as workers moved about it’s looking like it’ll be at least a couple more weeks before the space is ready for prime time.
In fact, a post on the restaurant’s Facebook Page indicates a target opening “in May” and the description says the restaurant will offer “…affordable, modern japanese cuisine. Full bar, sushi bar, indoor fire pit, outdoor dining and comfortable lounge chairs…”
Sounds great to us–downtown is in desperate need of another Japanese option in our opinion.
