Piña Napa Valley 2008 Howell Mountain Buckeye Vineyard Release Party, April 9th

by TrevR on March 22, 2011

One of our favorite local blogs is run by Ranndy Piña, one of four brothers that owns and operates Piña Napa Valley. Anna Monticelli oversees winemaking for the winery that produces single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

On April 9th Piña will host a release party at the winery in Rutherford (along the Silverado Trail). The ‘guest of honor’ will be the new 2008 Howell Mountain Buckeye Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The Buckeye Vineyard, which spans roughly six acres and is planted with some 7,140 Cabernet vines, was purchased by the Piña family in the late 90′s.

The 2000 vintage was the family’s first Buckeye release and at the upcoming release party you’ll be able to purchase a four year vertical of the Howell Mountain to allow you to compare vintages for an additional $10 per person (free for Piña Tilde Club members). There will also be the famous paella and wine pairing for those looking for something a bit different.
