The weather has been wet and wild here in the Napa Valley of late and so has our schedule. Regardless, here are a couple recent noteworthy happenings.

Michael Chiarello’s Bottega expands
Way back in July we told you that Michael Chiarello’s Bottega restaurant in Yountville was expanding. The expansion became official a couple weeks ago as Chiarello announced the addition of a pastry/pasta kitchen, and a new 36-seat private lounge, bar and dining room. Robert Hohmann, who worked at Bouchon in Beverly Hills and Del Posto, Per Se and Lincoln in New York City, was also named Executive Sous Chef.

Velo Vino Soft Launches
Up in St. Helena Clif Family Winery soft launched its tasting room, Velo Vino, at 709 Main Street late last week. Velo Vino is the newest adventure from Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford the owners and founders of Clif Bar and Clif Family Winery.
