Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

Here we are rapidly approaching the first weekend in February and there are a TON of amazing events on the docket in the Napa Valley.

The weather is supposed to be spectacular, so get out there and enjoy!

Friday, February 4th

  • The first Friday of the month means Food Truck Friday in downtown Napa. From 5pm – 12am the trucks will celebrate Chinese New Year (it’s the year of the rabbit) by each featuring a dish (or dishes) with rabbit. Find more details and RSVP here

Saturday, February 5th

  • From 9am – 3:30pm at the winery in Oakville, Silver Oak Cellars will host its Napa Valley release day celebration. The winery will release its 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and in addition to amazing wine you’ll be able to enjoy food from local restaurants, including Bistro Don Giovanni, La Toque, Tra Vigne, Fish Story and BarBersQ. You can purchase tickets in advance here. Cost is $40 per person online in advance and $50 per person at the door.
  • From 10am – 5:30pm Bennett Lane Winery in Calistoga will host a pre-release celebration for its 2008 Cabernet and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Cost is $20 per person and you can call 707-942-6684 for more information
  • From 11am – 2pm Cakebread Cellars will also host a Cabernet release day, which will include a sampling of the new releases and a selection of artisanal cheeses to be paired with each wine. Cost is $30 per person and you can call 800-588-0298 for more details
