Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

This is it–the final weekend before the Holidays are officially upon us. We’re expecting some stormy weather in the Napa Valley over the next several days, but that won’t stop us from getting out to check out the following events.

Friday, November 19th

  • From 5pm – 7pm all you Pinot Noir lovers will want to head on up to St. Helena Wine Center on Main Street in St. Helena for the company’s annual Pinot Noir tasting. For $30 per person you’ll be able to taste Pinots from producers such as En Route, Capiaux, Patz & Hall, Truchard, Abiouness, Ryan Cellars, Goldeneye and Ziata. Saturday, November 20th

  • From 5pm – 8pm downtown Napa’s Back Room Wines will host the 39th ‘Back Room Blow Out,’ which is a walk-around tasting event. For $10 per person ($5 with a purchase), you’ll be able to visit and taste (some 10 different wines) with Rod Moniz of Moniz Family Wines, Barr Smith of Barlow Vineyards, Davis Zurowski of Somerston/Priest Ranch, Adam Webb of Odisea and Gary Roshke of JoliVin Imports. Saturday, November 20th and Sunday, November 21st

  • From 10am – 4pm the annual Holiday in Carneros event will take place in the Carneros AVA. The event is a multi-winery ‘open house’ featuring food and wine pairings, live music, unique tasting opportunities, special pricing on purchases and more. Among the participating wineries are Michael Mondavi Family Winery, Truchard Vineyards and more. Cost is $35 per person in advance and $40 per person during the event and you can call 800-909-4352 for more information
