A short, but busy week is coming to a close. Here are a couple noteworthy stories brought to you from the heart of the Napa Valley.
Morimoto Napa set to open next week
After years of construction and waiting, downtown Napa’s Riverfront project is about to see its first high-profile tenant open up shop. Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is scheduled to open Morimoto Napa next week in what will surely be a landmark event. Here’s how the Chronicle’s “Inside Scoop” blog describes the menu:
Morimoto Napa will serve many of the Morimoto signatures, like his tuna pizza, but there will also be plenty of Napa specials, like the sea urchin carbonara (udon, bacon, urchin) and fig tempura (fried figs with peanut butter and foie gras sauce). Call the latter his twist on figs on a plate. He will be using predominately Napa ingredients and products. The exception is the fish, which he’s sourcing from his native Japan.

Swanson Vineyards launches new website, blog
Our friends over at Swanson Vineyards have just taken the wraps off a newly re-designed website and launched a blog. According to a release from the winery, the website will “offer new material each month, such as the essentials of the instant wedding, the instant summer cellar or the instant party.”
The blog is written by Alexis Swanson Traina and will contain tips, profiles of Bay Area personalities and her personal point of view on a variety of topics.
