A short week is flying by here in the Napa Valley. Here are a couple new developments we thought we’d share…
Bardessono re-launches outdoor patio lunch with new menu
Yountville’s Bardessono restaurant recently appointed James Allen to the post of General Manager. Allen, who has earned three Wine Spectator ‘Best Awards’ for his previous wine and beverage programs, was most recently with Blanca Restaurant in Solana Beach, C.A.
In addition, the resaurant has re-launched its outdoor patio lunch service (which is available to both guests and the public) with a new menu from Chef Sean O’Toole. Among the new menu items are the Little Farm Potato Gnocchi, early morel mushrooms, chick weed, green garlic, parmigiano-reggiano ($9/$15), a Monterey Shellfish “à la grecque” calamari, octopus, prawn, spring vegetable salad, regina extra virgin olive oil, a Devil’s Gulch Pork Sandwich, pulled pork shoulder, carolina mustard sauce, pickled okra, coleslaw ($13) and more.
Willie Bird returns to downtown Napa Chefs Market
The weekly free, family-oriented downtown Napa Chefs Market, which takes place every Thursday from 5pm – 9pm now through August 5th, will welcome back vendor Willie Bird starting this week. Willie Bird serves up foot-long barbequed turkey legs, which were quite popular with attendees before disappearing for the past four years due to the organizers wanting to go in the proverbial ‘different direction’ in terms of the food being served. The Market features a farmers market, two chef’s demonstrations (where samples of the food, paired with a Napa wine, are given away), three musical stages and a block of children’s activities.
