Checking in on the Napa Riverfront Project: Tyler Florence Rotisserie and Wine

by TrevR on April 14, 2010

Over the weekend we made our way past the riverfront development in downtown Napa to check in on how things are progressing.

We were particularly interested to see if there was any visible signs of progress given the fact that several establishments are expected to open at some point late this Spring or early Summer.

One space that caught our eye sits smack in the middle of the Riverfront Project, between Third Street and the Historic Napa Mill. Turns out this prime location will be the future home of Chef Tyler Florence’s aptly named Tyler Florence Rotisserie and Wine.

As Florence noted in a blog post last Fall, the rotisserie will focus on “…locally and sustainably-raised meats” and there will be a “full service wine bar featuring Napa’s and Sonoma’s finest offerings.” In addition to the rotisserie, Florence is planning a retail shop similar to his flagship store in Marin. No word yet on specific target opening dates.

Florence has, of course, flirted with establishing a presence in the Napa Valley previously and has been issuing regular Tweets about the progress of his new ventures.

Meanwhile, check out Thirsty Reader for the latest scoop on the other big name Chef coming to downtown Napa.
