Believe it or not, the final weekend of January is just a couple days away.

There are some great events on tap (mustard, mustard, mustard) and the sun should be shining once again, so get out there and enjoy it!

Friday, January 29th

  • From 5pm – 8pm downtown Napa’s Back Room Wines will host Back Room Blow out XXXV. For a $15 per person tasting fee (with a $5 credit back for each bottle of Blow Out wine purchased) you’ll be able to take part in a walk-around tasting with three local winery owners and/or winemakers and one wine importer. Among those slated to participate is Kate Chomko of Larkmead Vineyards in Calistoga, who will be pouring two vintages (the 2006 and 2007) of Larkmead “Firebelle” Bordeaux-style red blend, which goes for $50 per 750ml bottle. Call 707-226-1378 for more information

Saturday, January 30th

  • From 12pm – 4pm ZD Wines will host a 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon release event featuring cabernet (of course) and chocolate. Cost is $25 per person ($20 for ‘First Taste’ members) and walk-ins are welcome. Weather permitting, we highly recommend you make your way out to back porch for some beautiful westerly views of the valley. Call 800-487-7757 for all the details
  • At 7pm the grand opening event (aka Mustard Magic) for the 17th Annual Napa Valley Mustard Festival will take place at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena. The event includes food, wine, music, dancing, live art and a live auction. According to the festival’s Twitter account, you can get an Internet special on tickets through January 30th by visiting the website an entering the promo code “magic”. Otherwise, tickets are $150 at the door and you can call 707-938-1133 for further details
  • From 7pm – 10pm at Merryvale in St Helena the 21st Annual ‘Naked Vine‘ wine and art auction will take place. Tickets are $55 per person and will get you into the event that will include food, wine tasting from local wineries such as Baldacchi Family Vineyards, Ehlers Estate, Jocelyn Lonen Winery and more. View the auction lots here and if you have questions, call 707-963-8770

Happy Weekend!
