Never one to rest on his laurels, Chef Michael Chiarello has cooked up an interesting twist for foodies planning to enjoy a meal at his Yountville restaurant, Bottega.
What's Cooking? A view of the chef's table and kitchen area inside Chef Michael Chiarello's Bottega in Yountville
Chiarello has just unveiled the ‘Chef’s Table’, a custom dining experience offering diners five courses of “the very best of what Napa Valley has to offer on that particular day.” Foodies who opt for the Chef’s Table experience can expect to interact directly with the chef and wine director who will prepare a dinner dictated by the season’s best produce and product available.
If you’re looking for something more, you’re able to have input into a menu that is even more customized and may feature uncommon ingredients and dishes not found on the regular menu. Same goes for the wine pairings–guests can “challenge the chef to cook a meal complementing a particular set of wines, a specific region, or prized bottles from their own collections.” Apparently Chef Chiarello can’t get enough of the cooking challenges following his appearance on Top Chef Masters. Note: for this level of customization, you have to provide notice at least one week in advance.
As you may expect, the menu and pricing will vary nightly, but most will include four courses plus a cheese course and we’re told the average cost will be about $70 per person for dinner plus $30 per person for the optional wine pairing.
There will be two seatings, the first between 5:30pm – 6:30pm and the second between 8pm – 9pm. Parties of 6 – 12 are able to take the entire chef’s table, and parties of four can enjoy a communal experience.
