On February 28th Napa’s Silverado Resort will play host to the 2nd Annual Cochon 555 event, which will feature five chefs, five pigs and five winemakers in a friendly competition.
In celebration of National Pig Day, the event will see each chef prepare a 125-pound heritage pig from head-to-toe for attendees. From there, guests and professional judges will determine a winner based on creativity, classic preparation and overall best flavor.
The 2010 event will feature local chefs Christopher Kostow (Meadowood), Devin Knell (French Laundry), Peter Pahk (Silverado Resort), Dennis Lee (Namu Restaurant SF) and John Stewart & Duskie Estes (Zazu).
Among the participating wineries are Gamble Vineyards, Zacherle Wines, Hill Family Estate, Wind Gap Wines, Hirsch Vineyards and Krupp Brothers.
The even will support the City of Napa Fire Explorers, a vocational firefighter-training program for Napa County youth. Tickets are $110 per person for general admission and $160 per person for access to a special VIP event.
