What’s that old saying? Better late than never?
That seems to be the theme of the week for us here at Cork Board World Headquarters. We’re a day late with this post (our apologies), but here are a few (decidedly non-wine-related) events taking place in the Napa Valley this weekend that should be worth checking out.
Saturday, January 16, 2010
- The folks at Yountville’s Bardessono will host an educational session on ‘planting a culinary garden’ from 9:30am – 11:30am. Among other things, the session ($20 per person) will include details around planning a garden for your space and purpose, seeds and starts including predator and beneficial insect habitats, irrigation equipment and gardening tools and more. You’ll also be invited to tour Lucy’s Garden and the Hill Family Farm. Call 707-204-6030 for more information
- The Napa Valley College Upper Valley Campus in St. Helena will play host to an ‘All About Fruit Trees‘ educational session from 9am – 12:30pm. The UC Master Gardeners will present this free public workshop, which will show you the best techniques to keep your fruit trees healthy and productive. Call 707-253-4221 to register
Sunday, January 17, 2010
- A book that we here at The Cork Board can recite forwards and back, “Goodnight Moon“, will be presented in a musical adaptation at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville at 3pm. The familiar children’s story will “come to life on stage with lively musical numbers and colorful characters.” All Seats are $10 and you can call 707-944-1300 for more information
Enjoy!
