New Napa Valley beginnings: Norman Rose Tavern opens, construction on Vita now in full swing

With the year rapidly coming to a close a lot of us have our minds on new beginnings.

Here in the Napa Valley, there are signs of such new beginnings all over the place.

From Scratch: Construction on Laura Cunningham's Vita restaurant in Yountville is in full-swing. This south-western view includes Ma(i)sonry in the background

Laura Cunningham’s Vita restaurant under construction
As we’ve been reporting for some time, Laura Cunningham is planning an Italian restaurant at the North-end of Yountville. The location, which was previously occupied by PJ Steak, has largely sat vacant for the past year (or more). Now, as pictured above, construction on Vita is in full swing. The latest rumor around when the restaurant will open is Summer 2010.

Norman Rose Tavern now open in downtown Napa
Meanwhile, the transformation of downtown Napa continues with the newest dining attraction, Norman Rose Tavern, now officially open for business.

The Tavern, which is being run by the folks who operate Azzurro Pizzeria (also in downtown Napa), is serving up “elevated American classics” such as homemade Mac & Cheese, burgers, fries, wine, microbrews, tap Root Beer and more.

You can find the Tavern at 1401 First Street in Napa and on Twitter.
