The weekend is almost here and it’s another special one for us here at The Cork Board. Tomorrow, October 9th, a couple of us will be celebrating our 5-year wedding anniversary. Cheers to us!
OK, back to the task at hand– here are a few Napa Valley events slated for this weekend that should be a lot of fun.
Saturday, October 10th
- From 12pm – 4pm you’re invited to Silenus Vintners (5225 Solano Ave. in Napa) to meet vintner and winemaker Kirk Venge of Venge Vineyards. Venge will be on-hand to offer complimentary tastes of his ’05 Oakville Estate Merlot, ’06 Scouts Honor Prop Red, ’06 Penny Lane Sangiovese and ’08 Champs des Fleurs Prop White. - Between 1pm – 4pm Andretti Winery (4162 Big Ranch Road in Napa) will host a grand release party to celebrate its newly released 2007 Howell Mountain Zinfandel and its 2008 Barbera. For $25 per person, you’ll be able to enjoy the wines paired with ‘small bites’. Call 877-386-5070 x225 for more information
- If you’re not wined-out from the first two events, Paraduxx (7257 Silverado Trail in Napa) will be hosting its annual open house from 2pm – 6pm. For $50 per person ($25 per wine club member) you’ll be able to enjoy a pre-release tasting (and sales) of the Paraduxx and Postmark wines (yum!). In addition to the unveiling of the new vintage there will be hands-on blending seminars and cuisine from local restaurants. Call 707-967-2031 for all the details
- Finally, V. Sattui Winery (1111 White Lane in St. Helena) will host a crush party from 6:15pm – 9:30pm. For $75 per person ($65 per wine club member), you’ll have the opportunity to learn about grape-growing and winemaking via several behind-the-scenes looks into what happens at a winery during harvest.
