It’s certainly beginning to feel a lot like Fall around these parts, particularly in the early mornings, when the air is a bit crisp and the sun rises a bit later.

Saturday, August 29th
- While the free Blues, Brews & BBQ event will be in full swing from 1pm – 6pm in downtown Napa, the folks at Bounty Hunter will host a very fun winemaker rib eatin’ contest at 3pm. Ten Napa Valley winemakers will compete for the title of ‘Bounty Hunter Top Rib Eater’ by devouring as many of the Bounty Hunter’s St. Louis Cut Ribs as they can. Contestants are expected to include Andy Beckstoffer (Beckstoffer Vineyards) Brian Brown (Round Pond/Emmerson Brown), Marco DiGiulio (Girard), Mike Drash (Luna Vineyards), Glenn Hugo (Hugo Family Cellars), Marbue Marke (Caldwell Vineyard), Kevin Mills (Trinitas Cellars), Tim Milos (Bounty Hunter Rare Wine Co.), Zeke Neeley (Trefethen Vineyards) and Matthew Rorick (Elizabeth Spencer/Forlorn Hope). - Don’t forget, from 2pm – 5pm Hill Family Estate is putting on a Bacon, Lettuce, Heirloom Tomato and Wine Party at Bardessono in Yountville. If you plan to be there, stop by and say hello to us
Sunday, August 30th
- From 1pm – 5:30pm the first annual Barn Tour will take place near St. Helena. For $45 per person, you’ll tour a total of five late 19th century barns (including live-work, traditional, retail, renovated and more) in an open-house style format. There will also be special diversions, including an artist’s gallery and quick stop-overs at quirky, old places. The tour will conclude at the White Barn on Sulphur Springs Road, where noshing, nibbling and acoustic blue grass will be going on. Several local artists will exhibit and a brief presentation will be made by Preservation Napa Valley director Wendy Ward about the history, importance and rehabilitation of Napa Valley barns.
