Fresh on the heels of Masaharu Morimoto’s decision to open a restaurant in downtown Napa, rumors are swirling that another Food Network star will open up shop along Napa’s river font.

Tyler Florence Twitter rumors

If you can believe the buzz on Twitter (which we well know can be a slippery slope), then chef and television personality Tyler Florence, who makes his home in nearby Mill Valley, may be looking to open up another “The Tyler Florence Shop” (everything you need for the kitchen) near Morimoto’s new place.

Certainly having two high-profile tenants would help kick-start the downtown Napa Riverfront project.

Florence, of course, is no stranger to the Napa Valley. When we caught him late last year doing a cooking demonstration at the now bankrupt COPIA, he had just agreed to become the new Dean of Culinary Education at COPIA and Executive Chef at Julia’s Kitchen (then the anchor restaurant at COPIA). Obviously, both of those new roles were quite short-lived, as COPIA was shuttered shortly thereafter and never did re-open.
