Downtown Napa’s newest hotel, AVIA Napa, quietly opens for business

by TrevR on July 6, 2009

With everyone running around like crazy leading up to the 4th of July holiday, downtown Napa’s newest hotel finally (and quietly) opened for business at the beginning of the month.

Hotel Avia Napa

The AVIA Napa Hotel, which is located at 1450 First Street, has been a work in progress for quite some time. The hotel, which describes itself as “boutique” and “rustically elegant”, features a second-floor ‘Terrace’ (open to all guests from 8am – 10pm daily) that includes a fire pit, hardwood decking, porch swings, comfy loungers and an array of pots, planters and vine-covered niches.

All told, the AVIA Napa Hotel includes some 141 guestrooms and suites on five floors and its opening marks the latest in the continued revitalization effort for the downtown area.

This hotel looks nice from the outside…………………….on the inside I found issues.
We ate there last week for dinner, it was ok. Service was nice, shakey but ok. We were supprised that our server had limited answers to the questions we were asking. Basic things like, can I see breakfast menu to how much are the rooms?
And there is No lunch!! That blows it for us. We will never go back.

Very nice hotel. We are locals and went in to tour the hotel and have dinner. The hotel is decorated nicely and our dinner was fabulous! The front desk staff was very helpful with information on the hotel and the resturant staff was nice. A couple of questions we asked were not answered right away because servers needed to check their answers with supervisors, which was not an issue considering they just opened on the first of July. (Something I think the last comment didn’t take into consideration.) We will definately be going again to try breakfast!

Amazing! We just returned from our tour of California. The Avia in Napa was one of our treasured highlights. Beautiful hotel, everything felt luxurious in our gorgeous room. The brand new Oenotri, across the street from the Avia, offered one of our finest dining experiences during the whole trip. Between the beautiful bamboo sundeck we looked upon, the wonderful amenities, great staff, and the nearby dining experience… Napa was a total indulgence! Cannot wait to return!
