Gotta love a short week. With the weekend nearly upon us, here are two events slated for this weekend that promise to keep your taste buds entertained while helping out a couple of good causes.

Saturday, May 30th

  • The 5th Annual Ultimate Blind Date will take place from 2pm – 5pm at Flora Springs Winery in St. Helena. For $60 per person you’ll be able to mingle with more than 30 St. Helena wineries and winemakers, taste more than 60 wines and enjoy food pairings from Chef Cindy Pawlcyn and her three Napa Valley restaurants–Go Fish, Mustard’s and Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen. All ticket holders are eligible to enter a blind wine tasting contest for the chance to win an ‘Instant Wine Cellar’ from the Appellation St. Helena wineries. Click here to purchase your tickets–the event will benefit St. Helena’s Work Connection. As an added bonus, Pawlcyn will be on-hand signing copies of her cookbooks and now through June 1st each of her restaurants is offering a special flight of St. Helena wines. For $23 you’ll get one pour each of the Crocker and Starr Sauvignon Blanc, Flora Springs Merlot and Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon

Sunday, May 31st

  • Jocelyn Lonen Winery mother/daughter team Brandi Pack and Susan Curtis along with Cake Plate owner Lindsay Kroll will host a wine tasting and trunk show from 11am – 4pm. The event is free and in honor of brain tumor awareness month, 10% of all sales from the event will be donated to a local family whose lives have been changed by a stage-four brain cancer diagnosis. The event will take place at 1029 Loma Vista, which is located off Soda Canyon Road. Call 707-226-2300 to RSVP and for more information
