Another week has come and nearly gone. As we gear up for a busy weekend that will conclude with taking the little one on his first-ever Easter Egg hunt, we’ve got a couple local events to highlight for you all.

After a relatively wet, rainy week, the weekend is supposed to see lots of sun and warm temperatures…

Saturday, April 11th

  • The team at St. Clement Vineyards (photos) in St. Helena will host its 2006 Single Vineyard pre-release tasting between 11am – 4pm. For $25 per person (free for wine club members), you’ll have the opportunity to taste St. Clement’s four Single Vineyard Cabernets before their official release date. The wines will be poured by winemaker Danielle Cyrot on the terrace of the Winemaker’s Lounge and light hors’d oeuvres will be served. Call 707-265-5016 for more information

Sunday, April 12th

  • Our favorite local coffee shop and bakery, Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, will host a variety of family activities, complete with an appearance by the Easter Bunny himself. An Easter egg hunt will commence the festivities at 10:30am and all activities will take place in the garden (behind Keller’s Ad Hocphotos) on Washington Street. Bouchon Bakery’s assortment of both classic and seasonal treats will be on display for all to enjoy.

Among the new seasonal treats are Springtime Linzer Cookies, which are crisp, tender hazelnut cookies sandwiched with Bouchon Bakery’s house made raspberry jam and dusted with confectioner’s sugar; Bunny Shortbread (pictured above), which are sweet, buttery cookies in the shape of a bunny with a white or dark chocolate pate de glace; Hot Cross Buns, which are sweet, spiced buns with currants and cranberries; and Colomba Pasquale, a sweet Italian Easter bread
