Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

by Karen on February 26, 2009

Well, the end of the month is nearly upon us. If you will be in and/or around the Napa Valley this coming weekend, here are a couple events you may want to look into. Enjoy!

Saturday, February 28th

  • Bouchaine Vineyards will host a ‘Gold & Pearl Tasting’ from 2pm – 3:30pm. For $40 per person ($30 per person for Bacchus Club members) you’ll be treated to a sampling of oysters served with flavor components created to pair with a selection of Bouchaine white wines. In addition, there will be barrel samples and light hors d’oeuvres. Reservations are required, so call 707-252-9065 to reserve your spot
  • From 5pm – 7pm the 10th anniversary of ‘Open That Bottle Night’ will be celebrated at Back Room Wines in downtown Napa. The tradition is that you open a bottle that, for whatever reason, you have been saving for some ‘special event’ that has just never come about. Back Room Wines will have a live video stream that will allow tasters across the country to participate in OTBN’s first-ever online tasting forum. There is no charge to attend the event, call 707-226-1378 for all the details

Sunday, March 1st

  • Rain or shine, the 31st Annual Napa Valley Marathon will take place starting in Calistoga and winding south along Silverado Trail to finish at Vintage High School in north Napa. Expect multiple road closures and generally more traffic in the surrounding areas from 5am – 1pm. Call 707-226-7459 for more information

Happy weekend!
