Posted on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 in Napa news – Views: (153)A couple interesting developments to pass along for a Sunday morning in mid-January.First off, we had the pleasure of dining at Ubuntu in downtown Napa last night. That’s where the good news ends. If you were looking forward to enjoying the local grits smoked with hickory, which we love, it looks like you’ll have to wait. While at the restaurant, we learned last night was the final night Ubuntu would be open.
- Yountville’s 25° Brix drops the 25°, is now just Brix again
Posted on Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 in Napa news – Views: (151)Several days ago we noticed a change in the sign out in front of 25° Brix Restaurant and Gardens in Yountville. What was the change? Well, the 25° portion of the sign was gone. We asked around and were told by owner Valerie Herzog the 25° Brix name was confusing local customers, so the restaurant has decided to go back to the “good old name” of Brix (the restaurant only added the 25° following a major overhaul that was completed last June).

Having not tried an Oberon as yet, we weren’t quite sure what to expect.About OberonOberon Wines are produced by Rob Mondavi, Jr. and include Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are purposefully designed to be consumed in the shorter term, and the 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception.
