Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

by Karen on January 22, 2009

The rain is (finally) falling and the weekend is almost here. If you’ll be in town, here are a couple events worth looking into…

January 24th

  • St. Supery Vineyards and Winery will host a Cabernet tasting with hors d’oeuvres prepared by the winery chef. From 2pm – 3pm you’ll be able to taste the winery’s ‘Divine Cabs’, which include four distinctly different wines that are meant to demonstrate the meaning of ‘terroir‘. Reservations are required and the cost is $35 per person. Call 800-942-0809 x58 for all the details
  • Bouchaine Vineyards, which is located in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley, will play host to a seminar showing how the shape of the glass affects the taste of the wine. The event, which runs from 1pm – 4pm, will be hosted in the Bouchaine barrel room and will be presented by representatives from Riedel. For $100 per person, you’ll get to taste wine, much on ‘light’ hors d’oeuvres and take home the four different Riedel glasses. Call 707-252-9065 for more information

Enjoy!
