Playgrounds of Napa Valley: you never know who will be at the swing next to you

This is a bit of a random one, but hey, what the heck, it’s Saturday.

Late yesterday afternoon, when the sun finally made an appearance here in the Napa Valley we made our way to our favorite park, the aptly-named Yountville Park right across the street from the George C. Yount Cemetary. It’s a park with lots of open space, green grass and of course, plenty of swings and equipment for the little one to climb on.

As our little one made a bee-line for the swings, we noticed a father pushing his daughter in the swing next to the one our little guy chose. After exchanging quick ‘hello’ nods, I put the little one in the swing and started pushing. After a few pushes the father next to me asked ‘what’s his name?’ in a unique English accent–that’s when I looked over and realized we were swinging next to Sacha Baron Cohen (yes, that one) and his daughter, Olive. A few minutes later Olive’s mom (actress Isla Fisher) walked up and joined in the festivities. In the short time we were there, both Fisher and Cohen were extremely friendly, down-to-earth and (as you might expect) funny.

You’ll notice there aren’t any photos included in this post. That’s intentional–we didn’t take any. For us, a celebrity couple enjoying an afternoon in the park with their daughter isn’t photo (or autograph for that matter)-worthy. At the end of the day, they’re just people too…
