It’s that time of the week again; time to think about the weekend, which around here promises to be a rainy one for the first time in a long time. Here are a few local events that promise to keep you entertained and dry…

Saturday, November 1st

  • Rubicon Estate in Rutherford will host a Victorian Halloween magic lantern show, which will be shown at 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm. Guest Terry Borton from the American Magic-Lantern Theater will dramatize stories like The Raven, animated comedy, and songs projected on a full-sized screen. Cost is $25 per person and you can call 707-968-1161 for more information
  • Luna Vineyards, located at 2921 Silverado Trail in Napa, will be featuring a new release—the 2006 Canto, which is an intriguing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. You can drop by anytime between 10am – 5pm to taste this wine, which has not yet been added to the winery’s tasting menu. There is no charge and you can call 866-869-5862 ext.123 for more information

Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd

  • The always fun Calistoga Downtown Jazz Festival will be going on all weekend. Merchants will host live jazz and wineries will pour their juice between 11am – 4pm. Various restaurants will continue the festivities by hosting live music throughout the night. Call 707-942-6333 for more information and pricing details
