Some thoughts on the documentary “Merlove”

Last Friday night we made it out to the world premiere of Merlove, a documentary about Merlot. The premiere featured an hour-long Merlot tasting–with wines being poured by local vineyards–followed by a screening of Rudy McClain’s never-before seen documentary.
We arrived at the tail end of the Merlot tasting–having had our limit of wine during [...]

An interview with Rudy McClain, producer/director of the Merlot documentary Merlove

The Boing Boing post reminded us that we’ve never [...]

It’s a hot, sweltering Friday afternoon and all we feel like doing is popping open a nice bottle of cool, crisp sauvignon blanc–if anyone has any suggestions, we’re all ears! In the meantime, here are a couple news items that caught our eye today.
No AVA designation for east Napa, at least not yet
Last week we [...]

In recent days there have been quite a number of new developments in Napa Valley’s restaurant scene. Here’s a quick recap for anyone scoring at home.
JoLe opens in downtown Calistoga
Several weeks back while cruising through downtown Calistoga we noticed a new sign. Within the Mount View Hotel, a new restaurant, JoLe, was nearly set to [...]
