Everyone knows the Napa Valley for its amazing wine and the hundreds of wineries that can be visited for tastings and tours. If you’re not into wine, but find yourself in the valley anyway, chances are there is something else that’ll strike your fancy–maybe you’re a foodie, or maybe you enjoy biking or hiking.
Speaking from the experience of having literally hundreds of friends and family visit us over the years, a day of some serious R&R via a trip to the spa is quite high up on the list for many visitors. There’s certainly no shortage of options–with high-end, luxury spas (The Spa at Silverado, the massive, underground Spa Terra at The Meritage Resort, Auberge Spa to name a few) and more casual day-spas (Health Spa Napa Valley, Amadeus Spa, Greenhaus European Day Spa, Lincoln Avenue Spa to name a few) located in nearly every corner of the valley.
Yesterday, another new spa officially opened its doors. The Spa Villagio, which we’ve watched being built over the past several months in the town of Yountville, formally opened for business on Tuesday (see press release here). The spa, which is open to both hotel guests and day spa users daily from 7:30am – 9pm, describes its treatment offerings as combining “…Mediterranean influences with essential elements indigenous to Napa Valley.” All told, the new spa includes some 16 treatment rooms and another five private spa suites.
If you happen to give Spa Villagio a try in the near future, drop us a line and let us know what you thought. We’ll be sure to do the same if we can find the time to treat ourselves.
