Please hang with us as our posting is quite sporadic, but we’re absolutely buried at work (yes, we have day jobs) this week. We fully expect to resume a more regular posting schedule come this weekend (which can’t get here fast enough).
Michael Bauer, the SF Chronicle’s restaurant critic, had a blog post earlier this week regarding the Bay Area nominees for the 2008 James Beard Awards. Among the Napa Valley nominees, downtown Napa’s Ubuntu, which was a semifinalist in the “Best New Restaurant” category, did not make it to the finals.
St. Helena’s Terra, one of our personal favorites, is a finalist in the “Outstanding Service” category (and based on our experience, deservedly so!), and Julia Flynn Siler’s “House of Mondavi” is a finalist in the “Wine & Spirits” book category.
More details are here and here.
