Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by wearing green and drinking some reds and whites! Here are some events for this coming weekend.

Saturday, March 15th

• Bell Wine Cellars is hosting a cabernet blending session with Anthony Bell, founder and winemaker of 30 years. Anthony will guide you through the basics of wine blending and you’ll have the opportunity to create your very own blend. 11am – 1pm at 6200 Washington Street in Yountville. (707) 944-1673. Sunday, March 16th

• Andretti Winery celebrates the luck of the Irish with a tasting of their selections of Fume Blanc and Zinfandel with mini corned beef & cabbage and Irish cookies. There will be Irish themed entertainment throughout the afternoon celebration. A 30% savings on a case of 2005 Selections Chardonnay is also available through this event. 1pm – 4pm at 4162 Big Ranch Road in Napa. (877) 386-0507 x225 to reserve your tickets. Cost: $35 for wine club members, $40 for guests.

Saturday, March 15th through Monday, March 17th

• Clos du Val is celebrating green clovers and leprechauns by offering 2-for-1 tastings of their Classic-tier wines. 10am – 5pm at 5330 Silverado Trail in Napa. (707) 261-5225 or (800) 993-9463. Cost: $10 per guest.
