Well, after several nice weather days in a row, now we here in the Napa Valley are getting dark, cold, wet weather and more of the same is expected this weekend. Earlier in the week the extreme northern part of the valley actually saw snow, so if you’ll be in town this weekend, be sure to bundle up!

Here are a few events taking place over the weekend that might be worth checking out:

Friday, January 25

  • Back Room Wines will host ‘Blow Out XXV‘ from 5pm - 9pm at its downtown Napa location at 974 Franklin Street. Four local winery owners/winemakers and one wine importer will be on hand to pour wines. This event, held five times a year, costs $15/person and you get $5 back for each bottle of Blow Out wine you buy. Call 707-226-1378 or 877-322-2576 for more information

Saturday, January 26

  • Defending the CavemanThe Lincoln Theater, located at 100 California Drive in Yountville, will host an evening of comedy with a presentation of Defending the Caveman at 8pm. The show, written by Rob Becker, is described as a “…hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate…” and is the longest running solo play in Broadway history. Tickets range from $25 - $55/person, call 707-944-1300 (option 1) for more information

Sunday, January 27

  • With the weather so nasty, we thought a little chocolate might make everyone feel better. Wineries of Napa Valley, which is located at 1285 Napa Town Center in downtown Napa, will host a ‘Chocolate Decadence’ event from 3pm - 5pm. Visitors will be treated to wine paired with a variety of chocolates including truffles, brownies, dipped fruit and more. Cost is $10/person, call: 707-253-9450 for more information
