Believe it or not, the last weekend before Thanksgiving is upon us. Here are a couple local events that may be worth checking out if you’ll be in town. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous, so get out there and enjoy!
Saturday, November 17
- This one’s for those of you who are into cooking. For $125 you can get hands-on experience in making a delicious harvest menu at this Cooking with Julie class. From 4pm – 8pm you’ll learn how to make perfect risotto (butternut squash), moist rich turkey breast stuffed and grilled to perfection and an apple tart filled with homemade almond paste (frangipane). Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18
- The 20th Annual Holiday in Carneros is happening this weekend from 10am – 4pm on both days. Here’s how it works, you pay $25 per person, get a logo glass at any of the participating wineries (including several in both Napa and Sonoma) and you’re then treated to wine tasting and potentially food and wine pairings, live entertainment, barrel, reserve, vertical, or library wine tastings and more. A map of participating wineries is available here (warning PDF)–some of those in Napa include Folio Winemakers’ Studio, Truchard Vineyards, Etude, Ceja Vineyards, Adastra and Bouchaine Vineyards, among others.
