Get ready for another busy weekend of events in the Napa Valley. Here are a few that caught our eye:

Saturday, October 13

  • The 3rd Annual Walk to Cure Diabetes will take place at Peju Province Winery and St. Supery Winery with registration at 10am and the walk beginning at 11am. It will be a family friendly walk of about 1.5 miles through the vineyards and food and water will be provided as well as activities for the kids and music by the Napa High Jazz Band. The walk will commence at 8440 St. Helena Highway in Rutherford and run through 1pm. Cost varies, call 415-597-6309 for more information
  • Albert Katz will present a program that explores the history of olive oil production in Napa. Katz is an olive oil producer, founder of the California Olive Oil Council and former chef. Immediately following, award-winning olive oil producer, Marvin Martin from OlioDessa, will lead further discussion and an olive oil tasting. From 10am – 12pm at the Napa Valley Museum, 55 Presidents Circle in Yountville. Cost: Free with museum admission. Call 707-944-0500 for more information
  • Paraduxx will host its annual Open House Celebration and Benefit by providing a pre-release tasting and sales of the 2005 Paraduxx. The event will also include a barrel tasting of the 2006 vintage with winemaker David Galzignato, live music and boldly flavored cuisine and a silent auction of experiences and library wines. A portion of the proceeds to benefit The National Audubon Society. Check it out at 7257 Silverado Trail from 3pm – 6pm. Cost is $40/person. Call 888-354-8885 for more information
