Earlier this week the Carneros Wine Alliance announced the availability of a new, free ‘touring and tasting’ map featuring information on each of the wineries (including winery listings, street addresses, phone numbers, websites, tasting hours and featured varietals, as well as tips on visiting the Carneros AVA) of the Carneros Wine Alliance.

We’ve written before about the Carneros (or Los Carneros to be formal about it) appellation, which spans the southern ends of both Napa and Sonoma counties. The region is typically known for being cooler (it’s closer to the bay) and hence more amenable to producing cooler-climate wines, such as pinot noir, some merlot and syrah. Some of the notable wineries in the region include Artesa Winery, Bouchaine Vineyards and Mahoney Vineyard, among others.

Unfortunately, the map is currently only available in hard-copy and we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of ours in the mail any day now. Additional details can be found by reading the press release.
