Here’s a quick, wine-focused rundown of things you may want to check-out if you’ll be in the Napa Valley this weekend.

Saturday, August 11 - Sunday, August 12

  • For $7 per person this weekend, you can cruise on over to Merryvale Vineyards (1000 Main Street in St. Helena) to check-out their Syrah Barrel Tasting event. Between 1pm - 5pm you’ll be able to taste the winery’s “seductive” 2006 Syrah from the barrel, as well as the 2003 and 2004 vintages from the bottle. No reservations are necessary and you can call 707-963-2225 for more information
  • It’s the second weekend of the month, do you know what that means? You got it, it’s once again time for Hess’ Cellar Door Red Weekend. Provided our own 2007 vintage doesn’t decide to arrive, you can bet we’ll be making the trek up Mount Veeder (to 4411 Redwood Road in Napa) at some point on Saturday or Sunday to refill our half-gallon jug with a new red blend. The winery is open between 10am - 5pm daily, for more information, call: 707-255-1144

Sunday, August 12

  • For $60 per person, you can attend the 45th Annual Wine Tasting event put on by the Napa Valley Wine Library Association. This year’s theme is “A Selection of Cabernet Varieties from Napa Valley Appellations”. The event will be held in The Grove at Silverado Resort (1600 Atlas Peak Road in Napa) between 5pm - 7pm. For more information, call: 707-963-5145

Happy weekend!
