Cork Bits: ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

Happy almost weekend everyone, here’s the line-up of fun and interesting events happening in the Napa Valley this weekend:

Saturday, July 14th

  • Sterling Silver Screen Series hosted by Sterling Vineyards is kicking off it’s 5th Annual outdoor summer screen series with the movie Design for Living. Screenings include wine tasting. BBQ dinners are also available for an additional charge with other movie snacks. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the non-profit Starts & Vines Fund, established to support the needs of the local community. Grounds open at 7 pm at 1111 Dunaweal Lane, Calistoga.   • Bell Wine Cellars will be celebrating the release of its 2005 Syrah, Canterbury Vineyards, Sierra Foothills at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Yountville. The celebration includes a fun Bocce tournament and BBQ. The bocce winner takes home a Magnum of the Syrah! RSVP today! 1 – 5 pm at Washington Street, Younville. (707) 944-1673. Cost: $25.
  • Jocelyn Lonen Winery is hosting its 5th Annual Day in the Vineyards. Wine releases will be paired with delicious BBQ from The Missing Rib BBQ. Guests can chat with winery owners and winemaker Jamey Whetstone. Live music will also be played. RSVP today! 1 – 5 pm at 4400 Atlas Peak Road, Napa. (707) 257-2821. Cost: $30 for non-club members and $15 for club members.
