Cork Bits: Ideas for your Napa Valley weekend

Happy almost weekend everyone! As always, we welcome any feedback on any of the events we’ve listed.

Saturday, April 21

  • Bennett Lane Winery will be releasing its Maximus White Feasting Wine along with goodies that will make the wine shine! There will also be Hawaiian music and dancing to ensure a great time by all. 12pm – 4pm at 3340 Hwy 128 at Calistoga. (877) MAX-NAPA. Cost: $10/person, complimentary to wine club members and guests.

Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22

  • 20th Annual April in Carneros Open House will allow wine lovers to visit the Carneros region, famous for its Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs. Domaine Carneros, Folio, and Bouchaine April in Carnerosare some of the Napa Valley wineries expected to participate in this event. Wineries may include food and wine pairings, barrel, reserve and vertical tastings and more in an effort to make each visit a unique experience. Bonus points to the first Cork Board reader who can correctly identify the name of the vineyard that is currently displaying the sign on the right. 10 am – 4 pm. (800) 909-4352. Cost: $25 per adult.

Sunday, April 22

  • Reach for the Stars Fashion Show is an annual luncheon/fashion show and benefit event sponsored by Queen of the Valley Hospital. Local cancer survivors model the latest styles in clothing in this uplifting celebration. If lunching for a good cause is not enough, the event will be held at the newly opened Meritage Resort. Funds raised in this event are dedicated to equipment and services that are used for cancer treatment at the Queen of the Valley Hospital. 11am – 2pm at 875 Bordeaux Way, Napa. (707) 251-1882. Cost: $65.

PS–Don’t forget that this Sunday is Earth Day! Make sure to keep Mother Earth in mind while you enjoy the beautiful Napa Valley.
