Early Sunday morning we received an email from Daryl Sattui happily announcing that his castle winery in Calistoga would be open to the public as of Monday, April 9th. A few more details emerged from the email as well.

First off, the winery will be open for wine tastings from 9am – 6pm daily all year (no appointment required). Tours of the castle (which will apparently be “up to two hours in length”) and tastings will be offered on the hour everyday from 9am – 4pm and while reservations are not required, they are strongly encouraged. Castello di Amorosa will also be participating in the Napa Valley Neighbor program–meaning valley residents will be able to get half-price discounts on both tours and tastings.

We wrote about this endeavour previously and are hoping to stop by the castle today to further check things out. Stay tuned, we’ll try to publish photos and our observations from day one a bit later…
