Welcome to the St. Patrick’s edition of Cork Bits. How does a city known for its world class wine celebrate a day known for a couple green pints? Here’s how:
Saturday, March 17:
- Hurley’s Restaurant will be celebrating the luck of the Irish by unveiling a special Gaelic menu that includes Corned Beef Agus Cabalstz (corned beef and cabbage), Gaelic Stu (Irish stew), and a unique “Irish Cioppinoâ€Â. Guiness draught and Irish Whiskey is also available. This menu is available for lunch and dinner at 6518 Washington Street, Yountville. (707) 944-2345.
- Wineries of Napa Valley will be serving up wine with some delicious Irish treats. Wear green for half price wine tasting. 4pm – 6pm at 1285 Napa Town Center, Napa. (707) 253-9450. Cost: $10 for wine and appetizers.
Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18:
- Cliff Lede Vineyards’ newly released 2003 Poetry Howell Mountain will be available for tasting and purchase this weekend. This Cabernet Sauvignon is nearly gone so don’t miss it. If you’re feeling lucky, ask to taste the 2003 Poetry Mount Veeder (we hear it may already be sold out). 10am – 5pm at 1473 Yountville Cross Road, Yountville. Tours are by appointment only. (800) 428-2259.
Have a shamrock filled weekend!!
