Alpha Omega (aowinery.com) is a fairly new winery and is producing some amazing wine right out of the gate. They have almost completed construction on the tasting room and now is a great time to visit. As you enter Alpha Omega from Mee Lane just off Highway 29, you will find a dirt parking lot and more construction. Once you enter the tasting room you will be surprised to find white marble counter tops and some of the best tasting room staff you will find anywhere in the valley. Ask for Rick for a really special experience. Through the tasting room is a wrap-around patio with great views and lounge furniture. Just about every wine Alpha Omega produces is amazing, but if they have a bottle open, ask to taste their dessert wine. If not, just buy one, it's worth it. If you're really lucky, you might be able to taste "Era," their soon to be released high end red that should get at least a 94 from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker. Alpha Omega also has a great wine club that can get you into their high end events (Kobe beef dinner or lobster both with wine pairing). When you visit Alpha Omega go early, they stay open until 6pm so the tasting room can get busy with the later crowd.
Worth a look

We hadn't planned on stopping here. But the "new winery" on the sign suckered me in. I'm glad we stopped. They were still working on their tasting room (as of 7/3/08) but we had a great sommellier, Rick Patton, who helped us out and was friendly and who, like many we met during our trip, were living their "second life" in Napa.
We picked up a 2004 Propietary Red which I'm very excited about. Could use another year or so before it enters it's prime, but it drinks smooth and silky with a lot of dark fruits and bit of smokiness (which sneaks up on you).
Overall, it's a good experience. Ask for Rick if you go. I only rated 3 stars because of the facility.
