Mediocre at best

I was pretty excited to try out this restaurant when I heard that the chef was the former chef from Compadres a la Yountville. Co-workers had raved about Frida's as well so I have to say that I was a bit disappointed when actually dining there.
The salsa had too many tomatoes, if that is even possible, and reminded me a bit of eating a bowl of ketchup. The vegetarian nachos did not have an explanation of what they entailed so I was a bit surprised to see a slew of veggies covering my nachos. While I may not want steak or chicken on them, I am not too fond of squash and mushrooms on my nachos.
I do have to say that the service at Frida's was great. The server was attentive and the drinks were refilled without asking- always a good sign in my book.
I definitely would give Frida's another try but my expectations may not be so high this time.
