Beautiful grounds, lumpy bed (Posted by: tholmes on 03-13-2008 @ 11:00 PM)
On a recent weekend getaway to Calistoga, my wife and I spent two nights at Christopher's.
On pulling into the parking lot, I was immediately impressed with how much was in bloom and tidy. Very pretty setting. After checking in, however, we went to our very small room ($250/night). The bed was full-size, soft and lumpy. The bathroom fan rumbled like a biker gang, and the towels were thin.
The plus is that it's surprisingly quiet for being right off of 29. And for those who want no breakfast interactions, there's a basket of goodies and coffee (no tea, though).
Overall, I felt like Christopher's Inn is on a downhill trend and needs some loving attention paid to the rooms (okay, maybe just the room we stayed in). But at that price, I expect more.
